Build A Room, Pt 1: Pale Green Things

May 2, 2012

My cousin Laura, who does some amazing work in Houston as an interior designer, sent me a link to CB2’s DIY Saturdays. She said that it made her think of me and my sun room. She could not have been more on point:

How did she know that step one of my Build-A-Room project had to do with plants?? It must be that Young Blood coursing through our veins…

Yesterday, I arranged about 9 plants along the window sills in my sun room. I chose plants that needed large amounts of light and, of course, don’t require a lot of attention (black thumb). I went with mostly succulents, partially because of their low-maintenance nature and predominately because I love the look of them. This post doesn’t need a whole lot of explanation, so I will let the photos speak for themselves:

Off to a good start!

I’ll leave you with this, one of my favorite songs by The Mountain Goats, Pale Green Things.
