Post-4th Wrap Up.

July 5, 2012

Since I didn’t post an entry yesterday, I will say it today: Happy 4th of July! I hope it was a fun day for all of you. It was nice having a Wednesday off, and it was even nicer to indulge in some fun projects, mid-day cocktails and a barbeque later in the evening. Here is how yesterday went for us:

We started the day by doing some head shots for Connor’s corporate profile at work. He’s a boss now, so the photos needed to represent that. I don’t want to spoil the surprise of how well they turned out, so here is a sneak peak.

Then, I worked on some projects. I haven’t had a whole lot of time to dedicate to them lately, so yesterday was a treat! More on those later…

Next, Connor and I indulged in a little mid-afternoon treat, Red, White & Blue Margaritas, made by yours truly 🙂 I used Jimador Tequila, fresh blueberries, frozen strawberries and peaches, lime juice and a few dashes of orange bitters. So delicious.

Yumm….

After that, I learned how to tie a Celtic Knot, as seen above. I am using this for a future project, so stay tuned on that one…

Then, I upcycled this old polka-dot thrift store skirt into a dress with the help of a fun red rope belt…

…this is one of my summer tricks for an instant tube dress. And this one is perfect for the 4th!

Finally, we went to a barbeque at a friend’s house. We ate tons of food and played with sparklers.

Suffice to say, we were pretty beat after a big meal, so we skipped out on the fireworks display this year.

What did you do for the 4th?

~Katy
