DIY: Decorative Dishes

Remember from my last post that I was doing something with my old thrift store plates? As you probably already guessed, I hung them on my wall. What you probably didn’t know is that this was something that I have been wanting to do for my entire adult life, have endlessly (and impulsively) collected vintage plates for said project, and have never known exactly the rate way to execute such a task. I wanted to hang them “seamlessly”, after having toyed with those annoying spring-loaded plate hangers, so I went to 3 different stores to find these:

Adhesive plate hangers. You wet the back with a little bit of water from your finger, let them sit for a few minutes, adhere them to the back of the plate, and let the magical glue sit overnight. Make sure to press firmly on the disc when glueing to get all of the tiny air bubbles out.

The next day, all I had to do was bang a few nails into the wall and it was done!

Even better than this display of some of my favorite vintage plates is the fact that I have cleared out some storage place in my kitchen.

Do it!!!!! I LOVE your house so much – you have such a great eye, I know you would pick the prettiest plates. I am dying to get some of Carole Smith’s plates to add to the collection =)
