Photos from Our Weekend.

March 3, 2013

DSC_1433I just got home from dropping off two of my best buds at the airport. There is nothing that makes me more sad than having to say goodbye to a loved one after a great visit. I met Carlos and Derek when I was 19 years old, and it’s been “The 3 Amigos” ever since. For almost 10 years, these two have been there with me through every major life event, have been a shoulder to cry on (many times), and have made me laugh so hard I have peed a little (again, more than once). I love them, and it was an awesome treat to have them here with Connor and I this weekend. What makes my friendship with these two even more special is that my husband loves them, too, and that I have the pleasure of calling Carlos’ wife one of my friends.

Here are some highlights from the weekend. There was a lot of food, nice weather and R&R. It was perfect!

DSC_1438 DSC_1439Carlos is a hair stylist at  Do or Dye Texas, and on top of being incredibly talented, he is super stylish. I love his neck tattoos. When he told me he was getting them some years ago, I was a little against the idea. But seeing them now, I can’t imagine him without them!

DSC_1421 DSC_1422 The real treat came when Derek (pictured above) worked for 5 hours to make the most amazing Ossobuco and saffron risotto I have ever had! Seriously – it was so good I didn’t even have time to get some food shots before we devoured everything. By the end, we were all fighting over each other’s bone marrow. On top of being an amazing cook, Derek owns an IT service and training company called IT Home Office. He also happens to be the very person to first encourage me to start this blog, and he helped me figure out some of the technical inner workings of how to do so.

What an amazing weekend! It was too short, but I know there are more trips and travels in our future. Connor and I are making the trek to Austin, Texas at the end of this month for a wedding, and my mom is coming to visit next week. Stay tuned for lots of photos in March!

Thank you for coming to visit! I miss you already. Until next time…
