Connor and I are wrapping up our trip here in Anchorage, Alaska, where his mom, dad, brother and sister live. Connor’s 30th birthday is right around the corner, so his parents had us out to their lovely home in Eagle River (a neighborhood about 25 miles above Anchorage in a valley between the Chugach Mountains) as an early birthday gift. On Sunday, we drove 2 hours to Talkeetna, a small climbing town surrounded by Denali, a mountain that is famous for its treacherous climb. We stayed in a log cabin- like, a REAL log cabin. After dinner at the Denali Brewery, we drank wine and played trivia for a few hours until we all fell asleep. It was awesome. As you can imagine, I am pretty much in photography heaven here in AK. I have SO MANY photos, I don’t even know where to start, so I wanted to share a few from our little excursion to Talkeetna to start. It was unseasonable cold the first few days we were here – it snowed all day Friday! It’s warmed up now, and we are enjoying the night sun. We stumbled upon a moose leg while taking pictures near a lookout point. It was a keen reminder of the wilderness that surrounds you in Alaska! Other photos are of Denali, Connor and his siblings, and a couple of shots from downtown Talkeetna.
