Connor and I ventured to Kansas City early Saturday morning. I had been wanting to visit KC since we moved to Tulsa, so I was super excited! We were able to cover a lot of ground since KC borders Kansas and Missouri. I wanted to share a
few several photos of our weekend [all iPhone, just FYI] of our little weekend adventure:
//Drive home from Missouri – this was in rural OK
//A breakfast sandwich from Foolish Things Coffee in downtown Tulsa. Um. Soooooo good!
//Our drive to Missouri – I love the Over app for my iPhone! So many text and graphic options.
// Connor laughing at Patton Oswalt’s Finest Hour album. Comedy is a Cartland Road Trip must! P-Walt is one of our traditional faves.
// Once we made it to Kansas City, MO, we stopped at a local barbecue joint, Danny Edwards BBQ. I ordered the “Burnt End” Sandwich, which was AMAZING. I am not speaking in hyperbole. It was that good.
//We made the obligatory run to Trader Joe’s. I love that store! These chocolate covered potato chips were an extra special find, since the last time I tried one was in 9th grade and I have been searching for them ever since.
//We ate brunch on Sunday at Beer Kitchen in KC. I had a “red velvet waffle” that was topped with homemade whipped cream and berry compote. Connor got a baked pancake that was topped with grilled apples and rosemary maple syrup. Pretty impressive!
,9,10// We headed just across the border to Leawood, Kansas to check out the renowned Parisi Coffee. Connor read that the Quality Manager of Parisi has recently won several barista competitions and is moving on to a world barista competition in Australia! We understand why! Great coffee, great service. Oh, and, macarons.
//This was an adorable window display I happened by made out of ombre painted tongue depressors.
// ***New shoes from Urban Outfitters! We don’t have a UO in Oklahoma, so this was a nice little treat for me.
// New shades from Urban. And also, crazy summer hair.
,15,16// Yesterday’s race was in Lee’s Summit, MO. in their downtown area. There is an Amtrak station right in the middle of their downtown, so lots of train noise! I had fun walking around taking photos of the old industrial buildings and the pretty succulent gardens planted in large pots on each corner.
// Drive home in Missouri! It was a beautiful evening with a gorgeous sunset.
***I have a sort of inside joke with one of my lady friends about the foot picture thing. I felt like it was an appropriate time to bust one out since these shoes were so dang cute 😉
